Discover Calmer Days this Winter Season

Our seasonal campaign aims to give helpful prompts and reminders of how you can look after yourself and others during times of year that can be exciting and busy, but also challenging and difficult for many people.

We first launched our campaign on Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn from 1st-12th December 2021, and on this page you can catch up on all the content we shared during this time. Discover the many ways you can support your mental health through the festive season and beyond.

Whether you're the owner of an established business, work as part of a busy team, or a member of our community - we hope you enjoy the campaign and feel free to spread the word to anyone you feel would benefit.
It's a time of giving, after all!

Day 1

At Calmer, we would like to commend you all for everything you've achieved this year. Have you taken an opportunity to embrace and sit with your accomplishments? It's not been an easy year, and it's important to acknowledge what you feel proud about.

During the winter season, it's also important to reflect on your mental wellbeing. Have you noticed a change in yourself or your mood due to the shorter days, darker nights and colder weather? If so, Seasonal Affective Disorder could be behind it. To mark Day 1 of our 12-Day campaign, check out our blog which explores this topic in more detail and offers tips on how to prevent SAD from affecting you and your business.

Day 2

At Calmer, we understand that it takes a great deal of skill to create your own path and build your enterprise. Stress, burnout, and a lack of pastoral support can put all of this at risk, and lead to mental health issues.

We believe everyone deserves support in their working life, especially when working independently. With the right support, you are more likely to succeed in your work and in other aspects of your life that are important to you.

To mark Day 2 of our 12-Day campaign, you can gain access to the empowering resources within The Reignite Project.

Day 3

Self-care is about giving yourself permission to take time out for yourself, to boost your mental, physical and emotional wellbeing. Examples of self-care can include a relaxing activity, enjoying physical exercise, practising Mindfulness, and nurturing a sleep routine.

To mark Day 3 of our 12-Day campaign, let's focus on the importance of sleep for self-care. We sat down with Valerie Teh, one of our wellbeing practitioners here at Calmer, to explore this topic in more detail on our Take Regular Breaks podcast. Here, Valerie takes us through research surrounding the importance of, and stress caused by the lack of, sleep and provides us with a guided visualisation to help improve our sleep.

Day 4

Day 6

Whether you've been working from home for years or have just started, when it comes to remote working it's incredibly common to fall into unhelpful habits which can affect your focus, concentration and overall wellbeing.

Based on over 2,000 hours of research - where we talked to members of our community, clients, team and reviewed various studies - our Working From Home Guide highlights a range of key trends and practical strategies to ensure a healthy, happy and productive remote working set up.

Day 7

What is the concept of self-compassion and why is it so integral for good mental health and wellbeing?

Practising self-compassion exercises for your mental health is like training a mental muscle.

Day 8

As the new year approaches, you may be thinking about making a few new changes to align with your goals - whether that's professionally or personally. You could even be creating a fresh start at home, particularly if you're now working from home more regularly. They say “a tidy home makes for a tidy mind” - but does it really?

To mark Day 8 of our 12-Day campaign, explore the benefits of decluttering, tidying up, and organising your space, as well as the best ways to maximise the impact of cleaning and as a result, improving your mental wellbeing.

Day 9

What does self-kindness mean to you?

Studies have shown that practising acts of self-kindness can improve your mental health, increase happiness and boost your immune system.

To mark Day 9 of our 12-Day campaign, let's delve into this in more detail. We interviewed Mindfulness expert and life coach Karen Liebenguth on our Take Regular Breaks podcast, where we explored how to embrace and practise self-kindness for improved wellbeing, as well as the mental and physical benefits of exploring green spaces.

Day 10

Would you like to feel calmer, happier and more empowered to regularly nurture your health and wellbeing?

To mark Day 10 of our 12-Day campaign, enjoy a special offer on our Mindfulness guides and ecourses, each designed and curated to help you cultivate a regular routine that supports your health and wellbeing.

We're currently offering 50% OFF our ecourses throughout December until 5th January 2022! Whether you choose to gift yourself this treat, or pay it forward to someone you love over the festive season, now is a great time to take a look and find out more!

Day 11

Have you tried taking micro-breaks throughout your work day? We know that this can feel like a challenge, particularly when you're going through a busy period. However, research reveals that taking micro-breaks can improve engagement at work and reduce feelings of fatigue throughout the day, as well as increase energy, mood and performance.

To mark Day 11 of our 12-Day campaign, tune into another mirco-episode of our podcast with our Wellbeing Facilitator, Valerie Teh, to explore the long-term value of, and research behind, taking breaks on a regular basis. Valerie shares insights and actionable steps on how to make time for micro breaks as part of your working days.

Day 12

The start of a New Year signals a time for change, reflection and a sense of ‘starting afresh’. While this can bring a sense of inspiration and motivation, you may also feel pressure from the media, society or others in your life to come up with a range of goal-setting resolutions and embark on a healthy lifestyle.

However, it isn’t necessary to treat the New Year as a time for huge change and completely overhaul your life.

To mark the final Day 12 of our 12-Day campaign, read our tips on creating healthy habits this coming New Year, with a focus on putting your wellbeing first.
