Calmer Workplace Case Study
Katherine Gee, Principal Policy Officer for Economic Fairness at the GLA, shares her experience of working with Calmer to develop two different projects across the span of one year.
Project 1
Financial and mental wellbeing at work: Supporting your employees

“It was a pleasure working with Tania and her team. They were professional and personable and we had great communication throughout the project.
The Calmer team were excellently placed to tackle the topic of financial wellbeing for our Good Work Standard community session in Spring 2023. We felt in expert hands and were given sound advice on how to deliver the most impactful session for our community.
We asked Calmer to deliver a 1.5 hour online session on financial and mental wellbeing - with practical takeaways, interactive discussion and signposting to support. Calmer delivered against all these components and included evidence-based research which was well received. The session was compelling and engaging and we received great feedback from attendees.
Calmer delivered a very professional and practical product for our Good Work Standard community.”
“We received great feedback from attendees and we chose to commission Calmer again for a future project off the back of our positive experience.”
Project 2
Financial and mental wellbeing at work: Supporting your employees
“We had a great experience working with Tania and Julia once again in Autumn 2023. They had a very ‘can do’ attitude and approached the project with rigour, interest and creativity. They were both excellent communicators.

Calmer combined their in house expertise with desk based research and interviews to uncover the mental health challenges facing gig workers and what could suport them. We were impressed with how Calmer integrated the perspectives of different stakeholders, from policy advisors to gig workers themselves, into their session for us.
Calmer created an engaging and well thought through presentation and resources pack to serve this community and those wanting to support them. The presentation included compelling evidence, interactive discussion and practical takeaways to support better mental health.
Tania’s excellent presentation skills, and ability to engage a diverse audience, were particularly notable.”
“As a result of working with Calmer on this project, we now have a greater in-house understanding to aid our policy development, and a professional presentation with helpful resources for gig workers and those seeking to support them.”
